IEEE 2002 Region 1 Student Conference

Suffolk University has the great honor of hosting the 2002 Region 1 Student Conference which entails the traditional Undergraduate Student Paper Contest as well as the prestigious MicroMouse Design Competition.

Here are some details of the event:
  • Date: April 26 - 28, 2002


  • Place: Suffolk University, Downtown Boston, Massachussetts


  • Dateline: March 25, 2002 for registration
    Dateline has passed - Contact rudy@ee.suffolk.edu if you are still interested in registering and/or coming to the conference


  • Prizes: Prize money totalling $2,500 for the winners (exact amount to be decided)

Competition features:
  • MicroMouse Competition: Competitors build MicroMouse robot that will find its way from a corner of a maze to the center. The scoring of the contest is designed to reward speed, efficiency of maze solving, and self-reliance of the MicroMouse.


  • Student Paper Contest: This competition offers undergraduate IEEE Student Member opportunities to exercise and improve both written and verbal communication skills.
